Amul Ice Cream Parlour

You can find our shop at number 9 on National Highway 17 in Alto Porvorim. We are situated quite close to Hotel Orien, so there’s always something happening around here. Being on the highway means we get a lot of different people stopping by. Some are just driving through to the next city and need a quick snack to keep them going. Others live in the apartments nearby and come in after dinner for a treat. It’s a small shop, and we’ve had to organize the space carefully to fit all the freezer units. The highway can be noisy with the trucks and buses, but once you step inside, it’s a bit cooler and quieter. We don't have a big team, usually it’s just me or one of my family members behind the counter. We don't use any fancy sales tactics or anything. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for the customers to come in. The parking can be a bit tricky because the road is so busy, but people usually find a spot. We try to keep the stock full, but sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to explain why certain things aren't there. It’s just part of the daily grind. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not, just a convenient place for ice cream where you can stop and take a breather from the drive.
