Our place is tucked away in Paliem, Uccasaim, not too far from the Camroon Kingdom area. We don't have a big storefront on the main road, it’s more of a local spot where we keep our boats and gear. We run cruises and boat trips on the water around here. It isn't like those huge ships you see in the city; we have smaller boats that we take care of ourselves. Most of our day is spent cleaning the decks or making sure the engines are humming properly. The salt air in Goa is tough on everything, so we are always painting or fixing something. We grew up on these waters, so we know the tides and the best spots where it’s quiet. It is a family thing, really. My cousins and I do most of the work. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room, we usually just meet people by the water. Sometimes the weather is bad and we have to cancel, which is a bit of a pain, but that’s just life on the river. We like to show people the birds and the mangroves that you can’t see from the road. It’s a lot of hard work and the sun is always hot, but being out on the boat is better than sitting in an office all day. We just keep things moving and hope the weather stays clear for the trips.
