Verma Traders

We are located right in the middle of Street No 5 in Jwala Nagar. If you know Shahdara, you know it’s always crowded and there’s always something going on. Our shop is at 206, and it’s been there for quite a while now. We trade in different goods, mostly whatever our regular customers are looking for. It’s a tight space, packed with stock from the floor to the ceiling. You have to watch your step when you walk in because there are boxes everywhere. We don't have a fancy display window or anything like that. People just come in, ask for what they need, and we pull it out from the back. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone you know behind the counter. The street outside is narrow, so deliveries can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but we manage. Sometimes we have to shout over the noise of the rickshaws outside to hear what a customer is saying. It’s just part of being in Shahdara. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. In the winter, we keep the chai coming to stay warm. We've known some of our suppliers for twenty years, so we just trust each other's word. It’s not about contracts and fine print here; it’s about looking someone in the eye and shaking hands on a deal.
