Omaastha Women Empowerment Foundation

Omaastha Women Empowerment Foundation is tucked away in Gali No. 12 of Khajoori Colony. The address is D-1043. It is a very crowded and busy neighborhood, which is exactly where we want to be. Our space is basically just a room where we can sit down together and talk. It’s not polished or fancy. We have some mats on the floor and a few chairs for when guests come by. The street outside is always full of people, kids playing, and vendors selling things. It gives the place a lot of energy. We spend our days meeting with women from the colony and talking about whatever is on their minds. Sometimes it gets a bit hot because the ventilation isn't the best, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We aren't here to make a profit or look important. We are just here because we live in the community and we want to help each other out. People know they can just knock on the door if they need something. We don't have a website or big posters. Word of mouth is how most people find us in Khajoori. It’s a simple setup, but it’s ours. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the floor to answering the letters. It is honest work and we stay busy from morning until evening. That is pretty much the whole story of what happens here.
