We've been based here at 1/4505 Ram Nagar Extn for a while now. Most people around Shahdara know the Mandoli Road area, it gets busy. We used to go by Nhpc Ltd. (Formerely National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Lt), but now everyone just says Nhpc Ltd. Tucked into a Delhi neighborhood, it's a big name for such a small place. There’s a lot of paper moving through this office. Dealing with power and water projects means we spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at maps. People stop by and ask what we do because the old name is still stuck in their heads. In the mornings, the traffic on Mandoli Road makes getting to the office a bit of a chore. We just try to keep things moving. It isn’t always quiet in this part of Delhi. Being in Ram Nagar Extn feels different from being in the big corporate hubs. The daily stuff that comes with being a branch office is what we handle. Someone is always coming in with questions about the projects or looking for the right person to talk to. Between the desks piled with files, the tea guy comes around twice a day which is usually the highlight. This is practical work. We don’t have fancy lobby art or anything like that. Just the usual office chairs and the sound of the street outside is all you get. Since we've been at this address for a long time, it feels like home even when the computers are acting up. We just keep plugging away.
