Kamal Sweet House

Running this sweet shop on Jaffrabad Main Road 11 is a lot of work, to be honest. We get here way before the sun is even up to start the milk boiling. You have to keep an eye on it or it burns, and then the whole batch of sweets is ruined. My brother handles the deep frying while I take care of the counter. It gets really hot in the back during the summer, but that is just part of the job. We have been at this address for years now. The road outside is always loud with rickshaws and cars honking, but inside we just focus on the trays of barfi and jalebis. People come in for a quick snack or to buy a box for a wedding. We don't use fancy machines, mostly just our hands and big iron vats. Sometimes the delivery guy is late and we have to scramble to get things ready, but it usually works out fine. We aren't trying to be some big chain or anything. We just want to keep the shop going like our uncle did before us. Every evening we clean up the floor and count what is left. Some days we sell out of everything, other days we have leftovers to take home. It is just a regular life here in Jaffrabad. Nothing too special, just us making sweets day after day.
