Jenson & Nicholson (India) Ltd. has an office at B-128, Gali No.2 in Jyoti Colony. This is over in the Shahdara area of Delhi, 110032. If you know Delhi, you know Shahdara is one of those places that never really sleeps. Gali number two is always busy with people moving boxes and rickshaws trying to squeeze past each other. We have been part of the Indian industrial landscape for a very long time. Our space here is practical. It is filled with ledgers, some samples, and the constant sound of the ceiling fans. We deal with paints and coatings, so there is usually a faint smell of chemicals in the air, which we do not even notice anymore. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We talk to dealers, manage the inventory, and try to keep up with the orders coming in from different parts of the city. Being in a colony like Jyoti Colony means we are right in the middle of the local community. It is not like those glass buildings in Gurgaon. It is a bit cramped and the stairs are narrow, but it has character. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting across from people having tea and discussing delivery schedules. We just keep our heads down and make sure the product gets to where it needs to go on time. That is the daily routine for us here in Delhi.
