Ishika Export

Ishika Export is based over in the Lawrence Road Industrial Area. We are in Block G, Plot Number 14. If you’ve ever been to this part of the city, you know it’s full of warehouses and small factories making all sorts of things. Our place is one of those. We spend our days packing boxes and checking manifests to make sure everything is in order. It’s a lot of physical work, moving things around and making sure the labels are on straight before the trucks arrive. We started out with just two of us, and now we have a small crew that feels like family. We aren't some massive shipping giant. We just handle our specific products and try to get them where they need to go on time. The warehouse can get really cold in the winter and boiling in the summer because the roof is just tin. We just dress for it and keep going regardless of the weather. We don’t have a fancy office upstairs with air conditioning. Our desk is right there near the loading dock so we can see what’s happening at all times. Sometimes the trucks get backed up on the main road, and we have to wait around for hours. We use that time to sweep the floor or organize the shelves in the back. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s ours and we take pride in it. We don't spend money on brochures or big signs. Most people find us through word of mouth. We just focus on getting the work done and going home.
