Finding Garg Box & Bags isn’t too hard if you can find the Jharkhandi Mandir in Shahdara. We are right behind it at number 1/21 in Shalimar Park. The temple bells are a constant sound for us throughout the day. We deal in boxes and bags, mostly packing stuff for people. Our space is usually filled with the smell of cardboard and plastic. It’s a practical place, not meant for looking pretty or impressed. We spend most of our hours moving stacks from one side of the room to the other. Shahdara is a tight-knit area, and we’ve been tucked away here behind the mandir for quite some time. The street is narrow, so when a big delivery comes, everything stops for a minute. We know the neighbors well, and we often share lunch or a quick snack in the afternoons. The shop gets a bit dark in the corners because the windows are small, but we know where everything is kept. It’s a family-run sort of thing. We don't use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just supply the bags and boxes that people need for their own businesses or homes. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s silent for hours. That’s just the way it goes. We like the rhythm of it. It’s home for us, right here in Shalimar Park, twice as nice as they say.
