Farid Clinic

Down in Maujpur, specifically over in D Block, things move at a steady pace. We are tucked away right near Gali Number 9. If you live in Mohan Puri, you have probably passed by us several times while you were headed to the local market. The clinic itself is not very big. We have managed to fit a few chairs inside for people to sit while they wait their turn. Usually, it gets quite crowded in the early evenings when everyone is finally back from their jobs. The street outside is quite narrow, so you hear bikes honking constantly throughout the day. We have been in this spot for a while now. Most people who walk through the door live just a few houses away on the same street. We know whose son just got a new job and whose grandmother is finally feeling better after a cold. It is not like those giant city hospitals where nobody remembers your name. Here, we actually talk to each other. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit and chat by the open door to catch a breeze. We do not have any fancy medical machines here. It is mostly for basic checkups and helping neighbors with their regular health concerns. The floor is a bit worn out from years of people walking in. We keep a water cooler in the corner for the summer heat. It is a simple life in Gali Number 9.
