About Faiz Scrap Marchent – Metals & Minerals in North East Delhi
In Seelampur, specifically Gali No 4, is where you'll find our spot. It’s a narrow street, so it can be a bit of a squeeze when the carts and rickshaws are trying to get through. We deal in scrap, so our place is basically filled with piles of metal, old parts, and all sorts of discarded items. It might look like a mess to someone just passing by, but we know exactly what is in each pile. We spend our days sorting through the junk, separating the copper from the iron and seeing what can be reused. It’s dirty work and our clothes usually end up covered in rust or grime by the end of the shift. We don't have a fancy office; we usually just sit on some stools near the front of the gali and wait for people to bring stuff in. There’s a lot of weighing and haggling involved, which is just part of the daily routine in this neighborhood. The noise of hammers and metal clanging is something you get used to pretty quickly around here. We don't make a big deal out of what we do. It’s just about buying and selling what others don't need anymore. Sometimes we find some interesting things in the piles, but mostly it’s just the same old scrap metal day after day. It keeps us busy enough and we know the locals well. This has been the family way for a long time.
