It’s a basic building, nothing that stands out too much from the rest of the houses and shops on the block. Inside, we have a small area for visitors and a couple of desks where we handle the paperwork. Being a Nidhi company in this part of Delhi means we deal with a lot of local residents. They come in to talk about their small savings or whatever else they need help with. We aren’t fancy people. We wear regular clothes and drink a lot of tea while we work. The office gets a bit of light in the morning, which is nice. We try to keep things tidy, but there are always stacks of files somewhere. It’s just how it goes when you’re managing accounts for the neighborhood. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, but we’re used to it by now. We know most of the people who walk past our door. It’s a good community to be part of. We just focus on getting the day’s work done without much fuss or any big bells and whistles.
