Bhadavar Khushi & Pari Sweet Corner

We are located in Bhajanpura at the Choudhary Yadram Market on Main Gamri Road, block B-4. The name comes from the family, and we’ve been running this shop for a good stretch of time now. The market is always loud and there’s always someone calling out for something. We start our work while the rest of the street is still mostly asleep. You have to get the milk boiling and the sugar syrups ready before the morning rush hits. Our floor is made of old tiles that have been worn down over the years. We have a few benches for people to sit, but they are usually full. The smell of frying oil and cardamom is always hanging in the air. We don't have a big staff, just us and a couple of helpers who have been with us forever. We use big metal trays to show what we’ve made for the day. Sometimes we run out of boxes and have to use plain paper bags. The shop front is open to the road, so we see everything that happens in the market. It gets very crowded on the weekends when people are out shopping for their homes. We just keep our heads down and keep the trays full. It’s hard work and your back hurts by the end of it, but it’s what we do here in Bhajanpura.
