Art Of Scissor Beauty Saloon

If you walk down Yamuna Vihar towards the Sarvodhya Kanya Vidhyalaya, you’ll see us right across the street at C-2/154-155. It’s a busy spot in Delhi, mostly because of the school nearby. We get a lot of noise from the students during their breaks, but we’re used to it. The shop has been here for a while, and the interior is simple. We have the standard beauty parlor chairs and some counters filled with clips, combs, and various bottles of lotions. Most of the day is spent handling hair, though we do other things like facials when someone asks. The mirrors are old but clean. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving between the wash station and the styling chairs. There’s a small bench near the window where people sit and watch the traffic go by while they wait. Sometimes we have two or three people working at once, and other times it’s just one of us managing everything. We don't use any high-end marketing tricks. People just know we’re here because they walk past us every day on their way to the market or the school. It’s a practical business. We keep our scissors sharp and our towels washed. When the school bell rings for the final time in the afternoon, we know we’ve got a few more hours of work before we can finally head home.
