Akim Clinic

Down at B195 Street No.16 in Khajuri Khas, you will find Akim Clinic. It’s a small place tucked into the street. Khajuri Khas is always moving, with bikes and people going past the door all day long. Inside the clinic, we try to keep things as calm as possible. It’s a simple setup. We have a desk for the paperwork and a few chairs for people to sit while they wait. The walls are plain. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just a calendar and maybe a health poster or two. We see a lot of people from the neighborhood. Most of them we know by name now. They come in for small things mostly, like a cough that won't go away or a small injury from work. We spend a lot of time listening to what they have to say. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the backup lights, but we keep going. It’s just a regular local clinic. We don’t have a big team, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to helping with the patients. The street outside is dusty, so we are always dusting the shelves and the medicine bottles. It’s just a part of the daily routine here on Street No.16. We stay open until late because that’s when people get home from their jobs.
