Sushil Kumar Constructions Llp is located right in Mangan Bazar, up in North Sikkim. It is a beautiful place to live, but a tough place to build things. The terrain is steep and the weather doesn't always cooperate with our schedules. We have our small office right in the heart of the bazar. It’s a local spot where people know us by name. Most of our work involves building houses and small commercial structures in the hills. We use local labor and try to keep things simple. The office is often full of mud from our boots when we come back from a site. We have a few desks and a lot of ledger books. In Mangan, things move a bit slower than in the big cities, and we like it that way. Logistics are our biggest challenge, getting materials up the winding roads can take forever if there's a landslide or heavy rain. We spend a lot of time on the phone with truck drivers. We don't have a website or fancy ads. Most people just walk into the bazar and find us. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. Our work is solid, but we don't brag about it. We just show up every day and do what needs to be done. Sometimes we sit outside the office and watch the mist roll over the mountains. It's a good life, even with the hard work. We don't mind the cold winters much.
