Chakraborty Trading

We run Chakraborty Trading over in Chopra. Our shop is right opposite the Girls High School. It’s a landmark that everyone in the district of Uttar Dinajpur knows. Being across from the school means there are always students and parents around, especially in the mornings and afternoons. We trade in a variety of goods, mostly things that people in the local area need for their daily lives. Our shop isn't very large, but we make use of every inch of shelf space. We’ve been here for quite a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years. We start the day by sweeping the front and setting out some of the items on the sidewalk. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have a big computer system; we mostly just keep track of things in a ledger. People drop by not just to buy things, but also to have a quick chat about the weather or the local news. We like being a part of the community in Chopra. It’s a friendly place. Sometimes we get shipments that take up the whole entrance, and we have to work fast to clear the way before the school bell rings. We aren't trying to be the biggest trader around, just a reliable one that people can count on. It's a modest life, but we are happy with how things are going for us here.
