Varun Photo Store

If you’ve ever walked through the lanes of Chandni Chowk, you know it’s a bit of a maze. Our shop, Varun Photo Store, is right in the middle of all that chaos. It is a small space, mostly filled with camera gear and stacks of photo paper. We spend our days dealing with people who need prints or are looking for a new lens. The light in the shop isn't great, so we rely on those old fluorescent tubes that flicker sometimes. Outside the door, the rickshaw drivers are always shouting, and the smell of street food is everywhere. It’s hard to stay focused sometimes with all that noise, but you get used to it after a few years. We keep the counter cluttered with all sorts of things, from memory cards to old film rolls that nobody seems to buy much anymore. Sometimes a tourist wanders in looking for directions because they got lost in the alleys, and we try to help them out as much as we can. The floor is a bit uneven, and the stool behind the counter squeaks every time you sit down. It is just a regular local shop where we do our work and talk to the neighbors. We don't really have a fancy display, just whatever we have in stock sitting on the shelves for everyone to see. It is a simple life in a very busy part of the city.
