Chandni Chowk is never quiet, is it? Umar Clinic is right in the middle of all that noise and energy at 89294/2. We get people dropping in while they are out doing their shopping or running errands. It’s a small space, but we make it work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. People come in with all sorts of small problems. We see a lot of local families who have been in this area for generations. It’s one of those places where you hear the rikshaws outside and the shouting of vendors while you’re trying to talk to a patient. We don’t have a big waiting area, so people sometimes have to stand near the door or wait on the step. It’s just the reality of being in Chandni Chowk. We open the shutters early and get the place ready. There’s a lot of paperwork, mostly hand-written notes and old files stacked on the shelves. It feels very grounded here. We aren't trying to be anything other than a neighborhood clinic. If you walk past the shops and the stalls, you'll find us tucked away. We’ve become a bit of a landmark for the people living right on this block. It’s just regular life for us, day in and day out, helping people who stop by. The hours are long but we are used to it.
