If you have ever been to Pan Mandi, you know how it is with the carts and the loaders pushing through the narrow lanes. Our space is filled with plastic goods from floor to ceiling. It can get quite hot in the summer because the ventilation isn't great, but we have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving. We’ve been here a long time, dealing with the chaos of the market every single day. There isn't much room for a desk, so we usually sit on stools near the front. The phone rings constantly, and there is always someone at the door asking about prices or stock levels. We don't do anything fancy with the display. Things are just stacked where they fit. Sometimes we lose track of time because there are no windows to see the sun. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we share news over a cup of tea when there is a break. It is a tough environment but it is home for us. We just keep moving the boxes and taking the orders as they come. It’s not polished, but we know the business inside and out. The piles of plastic are everywhere you look and we just work around them.
