Supreme Lamp Shade Co.

Our shop is at number 1882 in Bhagirath Place, right in the middle of the big electrical market in Chandni Chowk. If you have ever been to this part of Delhi, you know how crowded it gets. It is a maze of wires and people carrying boxes on their heads. We have been selling lamp shades from this small spot for a long time. It is narrow inside, and we have shades stacked up to the ceiling. Some are simple and others have more detail, but they all serve the same purpose. Working in Chandni Chowk means you see all kinds of people every day. We open up early and stay until the market starts to quiet down, which is quite late. The address says Shop Number 1882, but it is easier to just ask someone where the lamp shade guys are. We spend most of our time dusting the fabric and glass because the city air is quite heavy here. It is a family thing, really. My father was here before me. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to whoever walks through the door. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break. It is noisy and loud outside with the rickshaws, but inside it is just us and the lamps. We try to keep things organized but in a place this old, that is hard to do.
