Shyamadevi Social Foundation

We are based in Sant Nagar, Burari, right at the location KH NO 136/15. Our place is on the upper ground floor of Block-B. It’s a very busy part of North Delhi, and there’s always something happening right outside on the street. Being on the upper ground floor makes it easy for people to find us without having to climb too many flights of stairs. The office is pretty basic, just a few rooms where we handle our daily work. We’ve got some desks pushed against the walls and a lot of paper stacked up in the corners where we keep our files. Burari is a growing area, so we see a lot of new buildings and shops going up around us all the time. It can get a bit dusty with all the construction work nearby, but we just keep the windows shut when it gets bad. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees, just a small group of us trying to stay on top of the things we need to do. Most days involve a lot of checking our lists and talking to local people who come by to ask questions. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist at the front, you just walk in and talk to whoever happens to be free at the moment. It’s a very direct and simple way of doing things. We’ve been here for a while and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of this neighborhood. It’s just our little spot in Delhi where we try to stay useful.
