Our shop is tucked away in Prem Gali, specifically Shop No 70 in the Shakti Motor Market area of Punja Shrief, Kashmere Gate. If you’ve ever been to Kashmere Gate, you know how tight the lanes are. Sehgal Auto Products is right in the middle of all that. It’s a small space, mostly filled with boxes of different parts. There’s barely enough room for two people to stand inside sometimes. We spend the day looking up part numbers and grabbing things from the high racks. It’s always dusty and smells a bit like rubber and oil. The market is famous for being hectic, and our street is no different. We have tea from the local guy while we wait for the next mechanic to come by asking for something specific. It’s a lot of back and forth, checking the stock and talking to the other shop owners nearby. We’ve been in this market for a long time. It’s not a glamorous job, just selling parts to people who need to fix their cars or bikes. The lights in the shop are a bit dim, but we know every corner of this place. You hear the horns honking outside all day long. It’s just the way life is here in the motor market. We close up late once the rush dies down and do it all over again the next day. It’s just us and the auto parts on the shelf waiting for the morning.
