Sanjida Hospital

Sanjida Hospital sits right on Bahadur Garh Road and it is always a bit noisy outside because of the traffic in Bara Hindu Rao. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how tight the streets get. We’ve been operating out of Kothi Mem for a while and the building has some history to it. People come in from all the nearby lanes. It is a lot of hard work keeping up with the neighborhood's needs. We spend most of our time just talking to patients and trying to figure out what’s wrong. It is not like those big corporate hospitals where everything is white and quiet. Here, you hear the horns and the people talking in the hallways. We have a few rooms and the doctors are usually running around. Sometimes the waiting area gets too hot in the summer but we have the coolers going. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just open the doors and help whoever walks in. It’s a community thing really. Many of our regulars have been coming to this spot for years. They know the nurses by name and vice versa. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the files and people, but we make it work. We stay open late because people in Bara Hindu Rao don’t always get off work early and they need somewhere to go when they are feeling unwell.
