We are based at 1862 Lal Quila, right in that historic heart of the city. Being Saliqa Traders means we handle a lot of different goods, mostly whatever is in demand in the local markets around the Red Fort area. It is a very old part of town, so the buildings are cramped and the alleys are narrow. We have been operating out of this spot for quite a while now. The walls are thick and stay cool in the summer, which is nice because it gets very hot outside. We don't have any fancy displays or a big showroom. Most of our business is just boxes coming in and boxes going out. We know the other traders nearby and we all sort of help each other out when someone needs a hand with a heavy load. The traffic around here is a nightmare, so we have to plan everything around when the trucks can actually get through. It is a lot of logistics and talking on the phone to suppliers. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the orders are right and the inventory is counted correctly. Sometimes we lose track of time because there are no windows in the main storage area. It's just part of the job. We keep things simple and try to be fair with everyone who comes to trade with us in this busy neighborhood.
