Safworld

Safworld is based in Ahata Kidara, over in the Bara Hindu Rao area. If you’ve ever walked through those lanes, you know it’s a world of its own. It’s one of those parts of the city where the history is baked into the walls. The streets are narrow, and there’s always a flow of people, carts, and bikes moving through. Our workspace is right in the middle of all that. It’s an old building, the kind with thick walls and high ceilings that stay relatively cool even when it's scorching outside. We don't have much in the way of modern décor. It’s mostly just functional furniture and piles of stock. The lighting isn't the best, so we use a lot of desk lamps to see what we’re doing. There’s a certain rhythm to life in Bara Hindu Rao that you just get used to. The sounds of the market nearby and the calls of the street vendors are our daily soundtrack. We’ve been here for years, and we know most of the other business owners on the block. We don’t do much advertising; people just know where we are. It’s a very traditional way of working, where a handshake and a word still mean something. We like the authenticity of this place, even if it’s a bit chaotic sometimes. It keeps us on our toes and connected to the city.
