Ruchika Sales Impex Private Limited is located right in the thick of things at 384 B on the ground floor of New Lajpat Rai Market. If you’ve ever been to Chandni Chowk, you know how it gets. It is loud, crowded, and there is always something happening outside the door. Being on the ground floor is good because we don't have to haul stuff up any stairs, but it also means people are constantly walking by. The market has a life of its own. We open up early and usually stay until the sun starts to go down. The space inside is a bit tight, but we’ve made it work over the years. We keep our records in the back and the main area is for the day-to-day business. The walls are a bit old and the lighting could be better, but it’s our spot. There’s a lot of history in these streets and sometimes you can feel it. We deal with all sorts of folks who come through the market. Sometimes it gets overwhelming with the noise of the rickshaws and the shouting, but you get used to it after a week or two. We don't have fancy furniture or a big meeting room. We just have our desks and some chairs for whoever stops by. It’s a busy life here in Delhi 6, and we just keep moving along with it. We just hope the rain doesn't flood the lane too much this year.
