Punjab Machine Tools

Our workshop is at P 114 in Sector 5 of the Bawana DSIDC Industrial Area. It’s quite a busy spot with trucks constantly loading and unloading in the lanes. We work with machine tools here, so there is always the smell of cutting oil and the sound of metal being turned on the lathes. It’s a hands-on kind of place. You won't find many people in suits around here; we’re usually in our work clothes, often with a bit of grease on our hands. The building is a basic industrial unit, but it serves us well. We’ve got the heavy machinery bolted down on the ground floor. Sometimes the power goes out in the area, which is a bit of a pain, but we have a backup to keep the main tools running. We take our time with the work because machine tools need to be sturdy. Our staff consists of people who have been in the trade for a long time. They don't need much instruction anymore, they just see what needs doing and do it. We don't spend much on advertising or fancy signs. Most people find us because they know we are here in Sector 5. The summer heat in Bawana can be pretty intense, so we have some big fans going all day. It’s just a regular, working-class shop where we try to get the orders out on time and keep the machines in good shape. It gets dark early in the winter, so we make sure the lighting is good.
