Shakti Bottle Agencies is right at 100, Chowk Tilak Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Tilak Bazar, you know it’s a crowded place full of traders and narrow lanes. Our shop is basically just a big warehouse full of every kind of bottle you can think of. We have glass ones, plastic ones, small jars, and big containers. They’re stacked in crates that go all the way to the back of the building. It’s a bit of a maze in there. We have to be careful walking around so we don’t knock anything over. The sound of glass clinking is the main thing you hear all day. It’s dusty work, and our hands are usually pretty dirty by the time we close up. There’s a small stool near the front where we sit when there aren't any customers. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that move the hot air around. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks that pull up right in the middle of the street, which usually makes the local drivers pretty angry. The pavement outside is uneven, and we have to watch our step with the heavy loads. It’s a busy, sweaty job, but we’ve been doing it for a long time at this same spot. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we usually share a tea in the afternoon while watching the crowd go by on the street.
