New Laxmi Paints & Hardware Store

Our store is on Edward Line, right in the Main Bazar of Kingsway Camp. Being at number 85 means we are right in the thick of things. The bazar is always moving, and there is never a quiet moment from morning until late at night. We deal with all sorts of hardware items, tools, and different kinds of paints. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, so we often have to use a ladder to get things down for customers. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to fit as much stock as possible into the space. People from the neighborhood come in for everything from a single nail to several buckets of paint for a whole house. We have been in this location for a while, and the building shows its age a bit, but it serves us well. The staff consists of a couple of guys who know exactly where every bolt and screw is hidden. We do not use any high-tech systems for keeping track of stuff; it is mostly just knowing the inventory by heart. Sometimes the rain makes the street outside a mess, but the customers still find their way to us. It is honest work, helping people fix things up or change the color of their rooms. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily rush as it comes. It feels like home here in the bazar.
