If you go down Gali Katra Sheikh Ranjha in Chawri Bazar, you will eventually find us at number 352. It’s a tight fit in these lanes, especially when people are moving boxes around. We have been selling tools from this spot for quite some time now. It’s a family-run thing, and usually, there are two or three of us behind the small counter. We don't have a big staff or a fancy office. Most of our day is spent helping plumbers or mechanics find the right size wrench or a specific bit. The walls are lined with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We have to use a ladder for almost everything. Chawri Bazar is a very old part of town, and it gets loud with all the shouting and the carts rolling by on the stone paths. We keep a stock of basic hand tools and some heavier hardware too. We don't really do much advertising. People just know we are here because their fathers or uncles used to buy from us. Sometimes the shop gets so full of boxes that there is barely room to stand. We just move things around and make it work. It’s a simple life selling tools to people who really need them for their daily jobs. We try to keep things organized but in a place this old, dust is just part of the furniture. We keep it honest and stay open until the tea stalls start closing.
