Maharani Digital is right in the middle of the chaos over at Chandni Chowk on Esplanade Road. If you know the Photo Market, you know exactly how busy it gets. We are right opposite the SBI Bank, which is a good landmark because everything else sort of blends together after a while. There are people everywhere, and the noise of the market is just something you live with every single day. We have our shop at number 10, and it’s usually packed with stuff. There’s not a lot of room to move around, but we know where everything is kept. The smell of the market—food from the stalls and that old building scent—is always there. We see all kinds of people coming through the doors, mostly looking for things in the photo market. We don’t bother with fancy displays or anything like that. We just have the things people need on the counters. Sometimes the power goes out for a second and we all just wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just part of being in this area. We’ve been here for a bit, and the walls show it. There are marks where we’ve moved boxes and old calendars that we never took down. It’s a real place, not like those shiny malls you see in other parts of the city. We just open up the shutters, do the work, and close them back up at night.
