Being in this part of Delhi means we are surrounded by the history of the old city and the constant smell of spices from the market. The shop is not very big, but it is packed with bags and boxes. We have been here for a long time, and while the building is old, it is where we feel most at home. It is a bit of a maze to get here if you are not used to the narrow lanes, but it is always lively. We spend our days talking to other traders and keeping track of our stock. We do not have air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that keep the air moving. In the afternoons, the alley gets very crowded with people and carts, so we try to get most of our heavy work done as early as we can.
