Khaneja Motors

If you ever find yourself walking down Hamilton Road near Kashmere Gate, you might see us at number 1004. Khaneja Motors has been around this part of Delhi for a long time. It’s a crowded area, as anyone who knows Kashmere Gate can tell you. There is always someone shouting or a horn honking right outside the door. Our shop is filled with all sorts of things, mostly parts and grease. It smells like old metal and oil in here, which I guess is what you’d expect. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV. Usually, people just stand around or sit on a plastic stool while we talk. The walls have some old calendars on them. We have been working in this same spot, doing things the way they’ve always been done. Hamilton Road is a busy stretch, and finding a place to park is almost impossible most days. We just deal with the chaos. It’s a small space, and we have to stack things high to make everything fit. My hands are usually dirty by ten in the morning. We don't spend money on fancy brochures. If someone needs something, they just come in and ask. It’s a very basic way of doing things, but it works for us. We know the neighbors and the other shop owners around here. It’s just a normal day at the gate for us. We keep the doors open and just get on with it.
