Our shop, Kabir Silver Works, is tucked away in the Lal Darwaza Plaza over at 1829 Khari Baoli. If you know Handard Marg, you know it gets pretty crowded around here. It's one of those busy parts of the city where there's always something going on. We spend most of our time at the workbench. It’s a small space, but it fits everything we need to do our silver work. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. The building is older, but it has character. You can hear the noise from the market all day long. We don't really do much advertising. People just know where we are. Usually, someone’s cousin or a neighbor tells them to come see us. We focus on the metal and the tools. My hands are usually a bit dirty from the polishing and the heat, but that's just part of the job. It's not a showroom where everything is shiny and perfect. It's a workshop first. We make things, we fix things, and we talk to whoever walks in the door. Sometimes the tea guy stops by and we take a break. Then it's back to the silver. Being in Khari Baoli means it's never quiet, but we like the energy of the plaza. It feels like we are part of the history of this area. We just keep our heads down and keep working on the pieces. We like that people trust us with their things.
