Down in Pitampura, things move at a certain pace. Our place is at Gd-101 in Vishakha Enclave, which is a fairly quiet pocket compared to the main market areas nearby. When you walk in, you’ll see the reception area first. It is pretty simple with some basic chairs and a stack of old magazines that nobody really reads anymore. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just updating the patient logs on the computer. The walls are a neutral color, and the floors get mopped twice a day because people bring in a lot of dirt from the street. Being a healthcare center means there is always a bit of a clinical smell, but we try to keep the windows open when the weather is nice. The staff brings their own lunch and we usually eat in the small back room near the filing cabinets. It’s not a big corporate office with a lobby or anything like that. It is just a functional space where we handle daily medical needs for the people living in the enclave. We know the guard at the gate of the colony and the guy who sells tea around the corner. It feels very much like a part of the neighborhood. Most days are busy but not chaotic. We just follow the schedule and make sure the bins are emptied at the end of every shift.
