I.Z. & Company

We are tucked away at number 82 in the D.D.U. Market. If you know Hauz Qazi, you know it is a maze of shops and narrow lanes. It is loud, it is crowded, and there is always someone moving a heavy crate past your toes. I.Z. & Company has been part of this chaos for quite some time. We deal in tools and industrial goods, mostly. The shop is small, and the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We use a rickety ladder to get the stuff from the top shelf. It is not a place for someone who likes quiet and peace. But if you need a specific part for a machine, this is where you come. We do not have a fancy dress code. Most of us wear old clothes because things get greasy. We know our neighbors well; we often share tea in the afternoons when things slow down for a minute. There is no big philosophy here. We buy things, we store them, and we sell them to people who need them. Sometimes the deliveries are late because the trucks cannot get through the traffic, but we manage. We do not spend money on glossy brochures. We just talk to the people who come in. It is a traditional way of doing business, and it seems to work fine for us in this market. We just keep going.
