India Tool House

India Tool House is located at 3791 in Chawri Bazar. We are on Gali Lohe Wali which is right near the metro station. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets. The lanes are very narrow. Sometimes you can barely walk through with all the carts and people. Our shop is full of metal tools and hardware. The name of the lane literally means the lane of iron. It’s very fitting. We have been here for a long time. The building is quite old and the walls are thick. It stays a bit cooler inside even when it’s boiling outside. We spend most of our time counting stock or helping customers find specific drill bits or wrenches. The proximity to the metro station is great for getting here, but the noise of the crowd never stops. We have a small back area where we keep the heavier inventory. It’s a bit of a maze back there. We don't have any polished sales pitches. We just show people what we have and tell them the price. Most of the business comes from word of mouth or people just walking by. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep our energy up. Chawri Bazar is a unique place. It’s loud and messy and busy, but it’s where we belong. We just keep the doors open and do our work. There is always someone coming in to ask for a very specific bolt.
