We’re right in the middle of everything at 733 Chandni Chowk, inside the Old Lajpat Rai Market. If you look across the way, you can see the Red Fort, which is a nice view when we actually have a minute to look out the door. This market is always packed. People everywhere, noise, and lots of different shops all squeezed together. We focus on electronics, so our shop is full of wires, circuit boards, and various spare parts. It’s a tight squeeze inside. We have shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling because floor space is so hard to come by in this part of Delhi. We’ve been here for quite some time, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a community of sorts, even if it feels chaotic to anyone just visiting. We spend most of our time helping people find that one specific part they can't get anywhere else. It’s dusty work, and your hands usually end up a bit dirty by the end of the shift. The market has its own rhythm, and we’re just a small part of it. There’s no air conditioning, just a few old fans that hum all day long. It’s not a place for a quiet chat, but it’s where the work gets done. Most days we’re just sorting through the new arrivals or helping someone who’s been walking around the market for hours. It gets hot, but that's just life in Chandni Chowk.
