Goel Art Printers

Goel Art Printers has been based in Chawri Bazar for quite a long time now. Our address is 3200 Mohalla Dassan, Charkhe Walan, which is right near the Standard Sweet shop. If you know Chawri Bazar, you know how narrow the lanes are and how crowded it gets with rickshaws and people. It’s a very old part of the city with a lot of history. We do our printing work in a small space that’s been in the family for years. The smell of the sweets from nearby sometimes drifts into the shop and makes us hungry. We handle a lot of traditional printing work for locals. It’s a noisy place because of the old machines and the constant chatter outside in the street. We don't have much room for storage, so paper is often stacked almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is kept. People find us by word of mouth or by just wandering through the mohalla and seeing our sign. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. Most of our day is spent checking proofs and making sure the colors look okay on the final sheets. It’s a lot of manual work. Sometimes the electricity goes out and everything stops, which is just part of living and working in this old area. We just wait for it to come back and start the machines again. It’s a simple life and a simple business in a busy part of town.
