Kashmere Gate is a crowded place, and we are right in the thick of it at 2818/2B. If you know anything about this area, you know it’s the place to go for anything related to vehicles. We have stacks of parts piled up everywhere, from engine components to small nuts and bolts that are hard to find anywhere else. It’s a bit of a maze inside the shop sometimes. We spend most of our day looking up part numbers and climbing ladders to get things off the high shelves. It’s greasy work and our hands are rarely clean by the time we go home. Mechanics come in all day long looking for specific pieces for cars they are trying to fix. We’ve been here long enough that we can usually tell what someone needs just by the way they describe the sound their engine is making. It’s loud out on the street with all the trucks and rickshaws, so you have to talk a bit louder to be heard. We don't have a fancy showroom; it’s more of a functional space where the focus is on having the right stock on hand. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea, but most days it is a constant flow of people asking for parts. It is a tough business but it feels good to help someone get their car back on the road.
