Ess Ess International is tucked away at number 5 in Nath Market, over in the Roshanpura area of Nai Sarak. If you’ve ever been to Nai Sarak, you know it’s a maze of shops and people. Our spot in Nath Market is right in the thick of it. The stairs leading up to our office are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to watch your step. Once you’re inside, it’s a bit quieter than the street, but you can still hear the rickshaw pullers and the general roar of the market outside. We have a lot of stock piled up against the walls, sometimes reaching all the way to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get around the desks, but we’ve learned how to navigate the space without bumping into things. We’ve got an old clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly, and a small shrine in the corner that we light every morning. Our days are filled with paperwork and dealing with people who wander in from the market. It’s a very local way of doing business. We don’t have a website that we update or any fancy marketing stuff. We just rely on being here and being known in the market. Roshanpura is a busy, old part of town, and we’ve become part of the furniture here. It’s dusty and crowded, but there is a life to it that you don’t find in the newer office buildings.
