Dr. N.K. Gandhi Memorial Opticals & Clinic

Our shop and clinic is located at Shop No. 317, right on the Main Road in Nirankari Colony. It's a busy spot because of all the traffic passing by every day. We do two things here: we look at people's eyes and we also have the optical side where we help them pick out frames. It’s a mix of clinical work and helping people find glasses that fit their faces. The shelves are lined with different styles of frames, some newer and some that have been there a while. The clinic part is in the back, where it’s a bit darker for the eye exams. Nirankari Colony is a lively neighborhood, so there’s always someone popping in to ask a question or get their glasses tightened. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us. We try to keep things moving along, but sometimes we get stuck chatting with the regulars about things happening on the Main Road. The floor is a bit worn from all the foot traffic over the years. We keep a simple schedule and don't really do much advertising. People usually just see the sign while they are driving or walking by. It’s a basic, honest business. We spend our days adjusting hinges and checking prescriptions. It’s steady work and we like being part of the street life here. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the front glass and makes it quite warm inside, but we have a fan that helps.
