You can find us on Narela Railway Road, right at number 2142. It’s a busy spot because of the trains, so there is a constant stream of people walking past the front window. Inside, we have rows of frames on the walls, ranging from the cheap plastic ones to the sturdier metal types that people seem to prefer these days. The floor is that old-fashioned tile that’s easy to clean but always looks a bit dull. We spend a lot of time helping people try on different pairs of glasses, watching them look at themselves in the small mirrors we have propped up on the counters. The eye testing area is in the back, behind a curtain, where it’s a bit quieter away from the street noise. It’s just a small team of us here. We do our own lens fitting on the machine in the corner, which makes a bit of a grinding noise that you eventually stop noticing. Sometimes the dust from the railway road gets in, so we are forever polishing the lenses so they stay clear. It’s not a fancy boutique or anything, just a place where you can get your eyes checked and find something to help you see better without a lot of fuss. We try to keep things moving so nobody has to wait too long. It’s just steady work on a very busy road.
