Delhi G P O area is always packed. Shop No 856/12 is right on S P Mukherjee Marg. Being in Friends Tyre Market means you hear the sound of air compressors and wrenches all day long. Daljeet Tyres Company is just one of many, but we’ve been in this corner for years. The shop isn't fancy. We have stacks of rubber everywhere and the smell is quite strong if you aren't used to it. I remember when the GPO building felt like the only landmark nearby, but now the whole road is full. People stop by when they have a puncture or need something replaced. We mostly just drink tea and wait for the next truck to pull up. The Friends Tyre Market has its own rhythm, usually starting very early. By the afternoon, the heat on S P Mukherjee Marg can be tough. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy lifting. It's a grit-under-your-fingernails kind of place. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you need us, you just come to the shop near the GPO. Most days are the same, just keeping the inventory sorted and making sure the floor is somewhat clear so people can walk in. It is just a regular shop doing regular things for the neighborhood drivers and transport guys. We just keep going one day at a time. The work is steady and the tires keep rolling.
