Chander Batteries

Lajpat Rai Market is a noisy place and we are right in the middle of it at 4119. Our shop is filled with batteries from the floor to the ceiling. We have the big heavy ones for trucks and the smaller ones for cars and bikes. Most of the day is spent moving these heavy boxes around. It gets quite dusty because of all the traffic outside. We have a small wooden desk where we sit and write down the sales in a big register. The floor has some marks from battery acid over the years, but that is just part of the business. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a couple of fans that blow the warm air around. The tea seller comes by every few hours, and we usually take a break then. We’ve been at this address for a long time. People come to us when their vehicle won't start in the morning. We check the water levels and the charge. It is simple work but it keeps us busy from morning until the market shuts down at night. Sometimes the alley gets blocked with delivery trucks, so we have to carry the batteries out to the main road. It is a bit of a workout. We don't use any flashy advertisements.
