You can find us at 1853 in Surya Bazar, which is part of the bigger Naya Bazar area. It’s a very old part of town and the streets are quite narrow and crowded. We’ve been here for several generations, so the history of the place is long. The shop is small and filled to the ceiling with all sorts of items. We handle a bit of everything, mostly wholesale and retail supplies for other traders. It’s a loud place with all the vendors calling out and the carts moving by, but we like the rhythm of it. We don’t have a fancy sign or any bright lights. Just the name painted above the door. Most of our day is spent unloading heavy crates and talking to regular buyers who come in every week. It’s hard work, especially when it gets really hot in the middle of the afternoon. We don’t have any air conditioning, just a couple of old ceiling fans that hum and rattle. We don't use a lot of fancy technology to run the business. We still use paper ledgers for a lot of our accounts because it just works for us and we're used to it. It’s an honest way to make a living in a place that hasn't changed much over the years. We know all the other shopkeepers around here, and we all try to help each other out when things get busy.
