Our place, Balkishan Dass Ashok Kumar, is located at 4625/1, right inside Ajmeri Gate. If you know that part of the city, you know how crowded and busy it gets at almost any hour. The lanes are narrow and there are people everywhere, but that’s the charm of being inside Ajmeri Gate. We’ve been at this address for a very long time, and the building shows its age a bit. It’s not a modern office block with glass and steel. It’s an old-style building where every corner is filled with something useful. We deal with a lot of foot traffic and people dropping in to talk. The address 4625/1 is just a small part of a very big, busy market area. Inside, it’s a bit dark and cool compared to the noisy street outside. We have our desks pushed together and there’s always a lot of talking going on, both inside the room and out on the pavement. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. You just walk in and talk to whoever is available at the moment. At Balkishan Dass Ashok Kumar, we do things the way they’ve always been done. It’s a bit messy and chaotic sometimes, but we know where everything is. We don't use any fancy management tools.
