B J R M Hospital is situated right in the middle of Jahangir Puri. It’s a big building and honestly, it stays busy almost twenty-four hours a day. You see people from all walks of life coming through the main gates. The hallways are usually full of people waiting or talking. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but that’s just how a public hospital in this part of town is. We have different departments for different things, and the staff is always on their feet. Some of the equipment is older, but it still works. We deal with everything from small scrapes to much bigger issues every single day. The surrounding area of Jahangirpurin is crowded, so there’s always something going on just outside our doors. We don't have a lot of time for formalities here. We just get to work and try to help the next person in line. The lights stay on all night. Sometimes the tea stall across the street is the only place to get a break for the night shift crew. It's a tough job sometimes, but we're used to the pace. It’s not like those hospitals in the movies, it’s just a real place where real things happen to people from the neighborhood. We just keep the wheels turning as best as we can. There is always someone coming in or going out through those big front doors.
