Ashok Mfg. Co. Pvt. Ltd. is located right on 1, Canal Road in Vijay Nagar. It’s easy enough to find if you’re looking. The canal is nearby, and you can usually hear the city noise in the background while we work. We’ve been operating out of this building for a long time. It’s a manufacturing spot, so don’t expect anything too clean or quiet. We have our machines lined up, and they run most of the day. The floor is made of concrete and shows the wear and tear of years of moving heavy stuff around. We mostly just focus on getting the orders out. There isn’t a big reception desk or anyone in a suit waiting to greet you. Usually, you’ll just find one of us near the back checking on the production line or fixing a piece of equipment that’s acting up. We eat our lunch together near the front door when it’s quiet. Vijay Nagar is a busy area, so there's always something happening outside. We don’t do a lot of talking about what we do; we just do it. Some days are longer than others, especially when a machine breaks down or a delivery is late. But we just keep at it. That is basically the story here on Canal Road. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just make things. It isn't always easy but it is what we have done for years.
